Jess and Ajae will be staying at the Malibu Country Inn which is about a 15 minute drive from Sycamore cove, 30 minutes from Santa Monica and 45-60 minutes from the LAX airport. There are only 16 rooms at this hotel. The rooms are available on a first come, first served basis. Mention the Haas/Clearway wedding in order to book that weekend. This will also get you a discounted rate. Follow the link on the right side of this page for contact information.

The Courtyard Marriott in Oxnard is another good option especially for those driving in from the North. It is located right by the 101 and the PCH. It is 23 minutes northwest of Sycamore Cove, an hour from Santa Monica and about an hour and 10 minutes from the LAX airport. The rate is $109/night(plus taxes) for one king or two queen-sized beds. For reservations call 800-321-2211 and ask for the “Clearway & Haas Wedding” rate or “CLE”group code or use the link above.

The Malibu Motel is another good hotel choice. The rooms are small and simple but it is clean, reasonably priced and conveniently located. It is closer to Santa Monica and LA but still only about 30 minutes from where the wedding will take place. The rooms on the upper level are quieter.

There aren’t many other options for hotels in Malibu. We recommend that you DO NOT stay at the Malibu Riviera Motel, as we’ve heard nothing but horror stories about the place. All of the other hotel options in Malibu seem to be in the $300+/night category.

If you’re feeling adventurous there are two campgrounds right next to where the wedding will take place. Thornhill Broome has camping right on the beach along with fire pits. Sycamore Canyon is just across the highway and provides more woodsy campsites. Both are part of Point Mugu State Park which in addition to hosting our wedding is a great place to hike, bike or hang out on the beach.
